GENERAL TOPICS
The
Museum contains some of the finest artifacts and photos from the
last 150 years, including a wonderful carving by Shang Wheeler of a
mythical brook trout “White Nose Pete” that lurked in the waters of
Upper Dam; a Rangeley boat and history of the skilled makers;
information on the Kennebago tribe of gentlemen anglers; artifacts
from the region’s history of trapping and hunting; mounts of the
region’s wildlife; a nice variety of flies and reels,
etc. Also on display are fly rods by F. E. Thomas, James
Daniels, Charles E. Wheeler, Ed Hoar, Ken Crocker, Omar Needham, and
Bud Wilcox.
